Purchased in 1998 by the Town of Abington thru the powers of "right of first refusal" allowed under the provisions of Chapter 61A agricultural land taxation laws.  M.G.L. - Chapter 61A - Table of Contents The citizens of Abington voted to purchase this  64 acre property to prevent it from being developed.  Approximately 32 acres lies within the Town of Rockland and the remaining 32 acres lies within the Town of Abington.

Wetlands and wet meadow conditions dominate this property and it has been targeted by various Town of Abington Boards and Departments for development without the benefit of an "ACCURATE ENVIRONMETAL ASSESSMENT".

The group SAVE GRIFFIN'S DAIRY believes that once you read all the facts that you will be convinced that the property known as Griffin's Dairy is not the right location to promote construction of any type. It should remain as open space/recreational land and the agricultural lifestyle promoted and preserved for our future generations.
